Module 1 Week 5 (Part 1): Northern Ireland issues (with Lorelei King & Enda McGarrity)
As the Covid Inquiry Module 1 evidential hearings conclude their penultimate week, Elkan is joined by Lorelei King & Enda McGarrity to discuss the devolved issues relating to Northern Ireland that have taken centre stage.
This week's episode has been split in to two parts, with part 1 focussing exclusively on issues, witnesses and evidence relating to Northern Ireland. Enda McGarrity, one of the lead solicitors representing the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice Northern Ireland branch, offers his expert insight and opinion on the events of the week, and how he, his team and his clients feel about the evidence heard and seen.
In part 2, Elkan and Lorelei are joined by Thomas Jones, one of the barristers on our legal team who is dealing with Welsh issues, and Barbara Herbert, client and member of the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice Wales branch, to discuss the Welsh issues that have been covered so far in the hearings.
This week saw a focus on devolved nations and the issues relating specifically to them, with witnesses ranging from Professor Sir Michael McBride, Baroness Foster, Michael Gove, Chris Llewellyn and more.
Join us next week as the Module 1 evidential hearings conclude and our legal team prepare to give their closing submissions.
